This is a pretty easy skirt to make that doesn't require a pattern or too much precision. I put it together in a couple of hours!
I chose this purple/pink fabric that was flowy. I found it on double clearance at Jo Ann Fabrics & I bought 3 yards.
Cut a piece of fabric for the waistband that is 2 inches wide. For the length of the piece add 3 inches to your waist measurement.
I ironed this piece to fusible interfacing to give it some stability. Fold the piece in half widthwise (wrong sides together) and stitch the open ends. Iron the waistband so the seam is in the middle of the back.
For the skirt piece, cut a square 2x's your waist in inches plus 3 inches. For the length measure from your waist to the top of your feet and add 3 inches.
I cut two identical pieces since my fabric was sheer. Ruffle the top of the skirt piece.
Pin the waistband to the ruffled skirt piece of fabric. Stitch the waistband to the skirt.
Pin then stitch an invisible zipper to the open ends of the skirt.
Stitch up the rest of the skirt and hem the bottom!
